アメリカのミネソタ大学のキーズ教授という人がこんな実験をしたそうな。
普通の人に6ヶ月間、今までの半分のカロリーの食事をとってもらったらどうなるか？という実験。
（3500キロカロリー食べていたものを1500キロカロリー前後に制限）
結果はというと。
被験者たちは体重が減っただけでなく、多くが食べ物にとりつかれてしまったそうな。
興味の全てが食べるものに関することになってしまったらしい。
被験者たちは、6ヶ月間のダイエット期間が終わって その後3ヶ月間で食事をだんだん元に戻していく予定だったんですって。
だけど彼らは普通の食事の量では満足できずに、5000～1万キロカロリーは食べるようになるわ、味付けに異常に凝るわで、普通の食生活にはなかなか戻れなかったらしいです。
こんなふうに、普通の人だって食事制限を受けただけで、身体は反応してしまうものなのです。
ダイエットのように、食べたい欲求を抑えて長期間我慢してきた人間が過食症になってしまうのは、身体の当然の反応なのかもしれません。
